Resize your photos and email them the easy way

There are all kinds of ways to resize and email photos. This one is already built into Windows XP.
Here is how to do it.
- Open My Computer - Search and Folder - must be turned off on the main menu bar at the top of the screen (not selected) to see the task window.
- You should see a task window on the left of the screen.
- Don’t see anything? Turn that option on by going into tools on the top menu. Select Folder Options. In the window that opens select Show common tasks in folders (the first selection). Then select ok and close the window. Now you should see the task window appear on the left.
- Now navigate to the folder containing your photos.
- Select all the photos you want to email. (use Ctrl A to select them all) or select the folder to email all the photos in that folder.
- In the task window on the left, click E-mail the selected items. A window will open asking you make the pictures smaller or keep them the same size. Just below the picture you see will be some text that says show more options. Click this to select the photo size. Select the size you want.
- Click show more options and select a size (for faster connections a larger size is ok)
- Click OK. Windows open your email client and inserts the file names into the subject line. (you might want to change that, if you want the names in the body of the message then just drag and drop them or cut and paste them into the message text)
- If you click three times on the subject window you can drag and drop them.
- Compose your message and your are ready to send you photos all at once.

Protect your Images from theft on line.
So many of my clients are concerned about protecting the photos they take of the homes they list from theft on line. This has prompted me to write about ways to protect your photos on the Internet.
Below are two methods of Image protection.
Remember nothing is fool proof 100% effective but this will deter most thieves.
Watermarking:
Most photo creation programs come with a watermark imbed feature. However if they don’t and you want to create a watermark you certainly can. Here is how you do it.
First of all you need to understand what a water mark is. A watermark is a transparent image (gif or png) over top of the image you are using.
To watermark an image you lay one (transparent) image over another. The way you do it depends on the editing software you are using. For example in Photo Shop you create a new transparent layer over top of the image put you text of logo in the layer and drop the opacity to the desired level. I like to use 25 –16%. Then save the image for the web and your watermark will be imbedded.
Here is an example. 
You can also use a service like Digimark, which embeds a message into your image and has bots that crawl the web looking for your image. There is a charge for this service.
Of course there are FREE watermarking programs.

Protect your Images by disabling right click:
Now if watermarking does not work for you, you can protect your images is by disabling the right click. That way no one can right click and save your image. If you want to do that you can use a bit of java script, which you would place right after the head tag.
